Ken & Aundra,
Mr. Al was a very smart & good man (HERO) We were truly blessed to get to know him
these last 14 or so months. He was always smiling & friendly. I wish we could have
been able to know him when we were younger.
May god bless you in this time of sorrow & loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.

Ken, What a beautiful tribute to your dad. Although we have not seen him recently, he will be so missed. As a child, I always loved to visit with both your mom and dad. It was always a treat to go to Marie and Al's. Those memories will always be with me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ken, Jackie and Family,
My deepest sympathies go out to you. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. Your dad was a great person and really helped so many young people. He inspired me with his modesty and piuosness many people would have bragged about their heroics but he did not. He lived like Christ he served others and did not expect to be served. My God's Blessing be with him.

I have often said that the two men who shaped me most were my father and Mr. Al Andre. I met him when I was a cocky 11-year-old on a Monday night in the basement of Linus Hall. Within a few months, Mr. Andre was challenging me at every turn, telling me that I'd never make Eagle Scout, which I'd told him was my goal for scouting. Nearly 7 years later at my Eagle Court of Honor, I stood in front of him and said, See, I made Eagle even though you said I never would.
"I knew that the only way to get you to do it was to tell you you couldn't," he said with a broad smile.
I think about that a lot as I raise my son, about believing in a kid so much that you'd be willing to cast yourself in a negative light because that's what he needs for motivation.
I had great respect for Mr. Andre, and for years after, I always stopped to speak with him after mass at OLA.
I remember one night at summer camp when Troop 82 had challenged a troop from Avon in a late night game of capture the flag. The two combat veterans leading out troop, Mr. Andre and my dad, had great fun calling each of us out by name as we snuck through the woods in the dark. I asked my father about it afterwards because both men wore glasses and were really "old," and he just laughed at me.
"Al," he said, "Patrick thinks we're old."
Mr. Andre laughed as well. I didn't really understand the joke until I became a father.
I mourn the loss of such a giant figure in my life, but I know for sure and for certain that I am the man I am today in no small measure because of the man Mr. Andre was.

Ken-

What a great tribute to your Dad (and Mother as well) that I read on the Funeral Home website. He had a full life and has earned his reward to be with our Lord and all those he know throughout his life-time. He will be missed! He will be in our prayers as will you and your family.
