Nick Stanish, age 88, passed away with his family by his side on June 15th. Born on June 18, 1935, in Fairhope (Belle Vernon, PA). He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Chunko) Stanish. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Vivian) for 64 years.  Loving father of Carol (Clinton) Rhodes.  Cherished grandfather of Nicole Greene. Dear brother of the late George Stanish, Marlene Makepeace, Marie Gonet and Patricia Podvorec. Uncle and great uncle. Proud U.S. Army veteran. Nick and Irene were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 27th at 11:45 a.m. with visitation one hour before service at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas). Inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and compassion shown to the entire family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cleveland American Veterans Association and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
