Melissa Marie (Jenks) Stewart

Melissa M. Stewart (nee Jenks)  Age 52. Passed away January 10th after a brief illness with her husband, sister and aunt by her side.  Beloved wife of Jeremy for 26 years. Daughter of the late William and Martha Jenks. Loving sister of Nicole (Bernard) Kiel. Cherished aunt of Bernard and Clementine.  Niece of Jimmy (deceased), Mike, Neil (deceased), Dan, Brian (deceased) Jenks, Maureen Murphy, Rich Ciocca and Joyce Koran. Cousin of many. Best friend of Christine. She will be especially missed by her dog Daisy. Melissa loved to read, have coffee, raise dogs and cheer on the Indians and the Red Sox.  Most will think of Melissa when ever they see hello kitty or hear Green Day, and remember her uncanny way of making you laugh. Some may not know that Melissa loved with reckless abandon and did all she could to protect the ones she loved. Melissa had a quirky, young at heart personality that showed the most when she was with her niece and nephew “ her penguins “ she was the happiest when she was spoiling them with treats or playing games.  

 Memorial visitation with her family will be held Sunday, January 16th, from 2-4 p.m.  at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas). Another Celebration of Life will be held this Summer.  Contributions to the MS foundation or the ASPCA would be appreciated.
