Marilyn Patricia (James) McCann

Marilyn Patricia James-McCann, age 87 of Berea, Ohio passed away July 25, 2025 after a  courageous battle with cancer. Loving mother to Malachy(Mick) McCann and Maureen McCann (Edward Jahnke). Loving grandmother of Liam and Maura McJahnke  Daughter of the late Harold and Virginia Calvey James. Dear sister to Virginia ( Milan) Kosovich and siblings who preceded her in death,  Annabelle (Joseph) Bakaitis, Thomas (Virginia) James, Marjorie (Raymond) Burns and Richard James. 

 Adventurous and independent in spirit, Marilyn lived in Florida, Michigan and California before returning to Ohio. In California, she met Malachy McCann. Marilyn and Malachy married and had Malachy Jr and Maureen. Marilyn cherished her children and her grandchildren. Liam and Maura were her great joy. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow and attending their school and sporting events..

A loving aunt, great aunt and cousin to many here and in Ireland.  Marilyn cherished her time with her family and loved to sing and dance with her cousins.  Marilyn had a unique relationship with every person she knew and always had a way of making everyone feel loved.  She was a "second mom" to many of her children's friends, who gave her the nickname "Sandals".  Marilyn was a beautiful blend of kindness, strength and wisdom.

Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church 250 Kraft St. Berea, Ohio 44017 on Friday, 8/22/25, at 11:30 am.  PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
