John "Butch" Michael Kurtz

JOHN  M. KURTZ  (a.k.a. Butch ) Age 75. Beloved husband of Virginia (nee Japinoski) for 48 years. Loving Dad of Kimberly Golden and Kristen (Sean) Burns. Cherished Papa of Madeleine and Gustav Golden and Artemis Burns. Beloved son of Michael (dec.) and Ruth(dec.) Dear brother of James (dec.) (Christine) Kurtz, David (dec.) (Maggie )Kurtz, and Carol Kurtz (dec.). Uncle and great uncle. USMC Vietnam Veteran. Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 387. IAWA weightlifter who competed  and won many trophies in local and world record breakers competitions.  His love for fishing was unwavering despite his lack of fish catching.   His sense of humor and deep love for his family were second to none. He is missed already.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 7th, 6:00 p.m. at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas). Family will receive friends on Monday from 4-6 p.m. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 8th, at 1:30 p.m. Family requests masks.
