James Joseph Walzak (Jim), only son of the late Joseph and Olga Walzak
December 3, 1933 - October 21, 2021 (Age 87)
James passed away quietly at home on Thursday, October 21, 2021
Leaving behind his childhood sweetheart of 66 years, Judith Paula Wray Walzak, and their three children, Chris, Steve and Laraine. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Brett and Nicole, and three great grandchildren, Lexi, Tyler and Aiden. Jim is also survived by sisters Marilyn Walzak Beeke, Patricia Walzak Bell, Doris Walzak Craig and is predeceased by sisters Ruth Bochin Neibert and Joy Walzak Zapola. Jim was confirmed and married at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Cleveland.
Jim could accomplish anything he set his mind to. At a very early age he was fascinated with motorcycles and cars. After graduating from James Ford Rhodes high school, he studied automotive mechanics at Max Hayes Vocational School.
In his early years he worked as a mechanic at a car dealership, and then decided to purchase his first gas station. Four gas stations later, Jim retired at the early age of 51. He was always a cowboy at heart, and his lifelong dream was to purchase enough property to house the animals he loved, ranging from horses to dogs, cats and even geese, which floated on his 1 acre pond! He had a barn built to house his three horses. In his latter years Jim loved to wake up early and take his lovely wife to breakfast. After a life well lived with many friends and family members, may he Rest in Peace surrounded by God's love.
A Service for Jim will be held at 10 am Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 13485 West River Road, Columbia Station, Ohio
