Obituary

Horace "Hal" A. Mattix  Age 73.  Loving father of Deborah (Troy) Lindsay and Colleen (Brian) Hepner.  Cherished grandpa of Owen and Hunter. Dear brother of James E. (Marge) Mattix, Dennis J. Mattix (deceased), Richard A. (Sheila) Mattix and Charles R. Mattix.  Uncle of Samantha (Josh) and Cassandra (Tyler) and Nicole.   Family will receive friends at his Memorial visitation at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive ( Between Lorain & Puritas) on Saturday, November 26, from 2-4 p.m. Hal was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was an outdoorsman at heart and spent 30 years living in western New York. He loved being outside and spent much of his free time fishing, camping, and hunting. A true dog lover who considered his pets to be a part of his family. You would often find Hal at the campgrounds with his pups. He enjoyed laughter, always cracking a joke or singing a favorite tune. Anything to make you smile (or roll your eyes). Returning to Cleveland for his final years, he was close to and cared for by family. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
