Genevieve R. (D'Amore) Noar

Genevieve was born in 1928 in Whitsett near Uniontown, PA to Dominic and Anna D'Amore. Dominic immigrated to our country from Italy and Anna (nee Schneck) from Czechoslovakia.  They met, married and settled in Uniontown, PA.  After Dominic suffered an unfortunate and untimely accidental death working in the coal mines, Anna remarried Genevieve's loving stepfather, Frank Lesinsky.

Genevieve was married to Edward Noar for 62 years before his passing in 2010.  She is survived by her children Edward (Sharon), Michael (Marie), Suzanne Himmelein (Edward) and Randy (Laura).  Genevieve is also survived by her beautiful family of 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Josephine and her 7 brothers; Richard, Daniel, Leo, John, Joseph, Albert and Robert, all who proudly served in the armed forces.  She leaves behind her dear sister Helen Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida and sister in law, Diane D'Amore of Cleveland as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews and their families.

Genevieve lived a life devoted to her faith and to her family, welcoming every visit as though she hadn't seen you in years.  Always offering a meal, a cup of coffee and the chance to catch up with stories about days gone by growing up in a small coal mining town and working hard to help her large family.  Genevieve moved to Cleveland in 1964 where she made her home until her passing.  She also worked outside of the home as her children grew and instilled in them humility, honesty, respect and above all, love for one another.

She proudly supported her grandchildren and great grandchildren thru the many baptisims, communions, confirmations, weddings and children of their own.  She was an A-1 babysitter.  There was never an issue or ounce of worry when grandchildren were left with her.  They somehow were all angels, never acting up, or fussing when in her care.  Every gift she received was cherished, from a simple hand towel to her magnet collection as family members traveled and returned with a souvenir.  The meals she made were the best of 2 nationalities, Italian and Hungarian resulting in the greatest nutrolls, poppyseed rolls, spaghetti sauce and italian cookies.

At 98 years old, Genevieve lived through alot of change in this world.  But she, in her simplicity, and faith was an unchanging, steadfast and comforting mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Genevieve will be missed.  The matriarch of this large family.  98 years of one of the nicest souls on this earth, now joining her husband, her parents and siblings that she has so dearly missed these many years.  She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, compassion and kindness.

Rest in peace mom. You've earned your wings.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 24th, 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Church 14040 Puritas Avenue.  Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas) Tuesday, June 23rd, from 4-7 p.m.  Family suggests contributions to Genevieve's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's research hospital.
