David Michael Cook

David M. Cook, Sr.,(72)  went home to be with the Lord, November 9, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He passed away at home with his family by his side.  Beloved husband of Debi (nee Heisley) for 41 years.  Loving dad to Dana Michelle Cook, David Michael Cook Jr. and Dustin Edward Cook. Cherished Papa of Morgan Elizabeth (Bradford Cuthbert Jr.) Cook-Cuthbert and Cecelia Christine Cook.  Dear brother of Christine (Bobby Joe) Damron and Donald "Cookie" Cook. Uncle and great uncle. He was a good friend to many, and best friend to David and Michelle Yount. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy.

Dave was a man of great faith and many talents. He was a licensed airline and diesel mechanic. He was also a talented sign artist and ran a sign business with his wife for many years. He finished his career at CRT, and took pride in the detail and precision of his work. During his free time he enjoyed Cleveland sports, Norwalk Raceway Park, woodworking, good music and Bible study. His heart’s desire was to be used by God, and he had a passion for sharing his faith – the good news of Jesus Christ. He frequently shared the verse Colossians 1:27 with friends and family, which is “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. This verse he loved, and it is now his reality.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 14th,  from 4-8 p.m. at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (North of Puritas, South of Lorain). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15th, 10:30 a.m. at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home.  Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio
