Darla Jean Schaller

Darla Jean Schaller  Age 81   Passed away quietly at home on her birthday. Beloved daughter of the late Dr. William Sr. and Eleanore Schaller. Cherished sister of William H. Schaller Jr. Dear cousin of many.  Darla graduated from John Marshall in 1959 and then attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables Florida.  She studied nursing and received a BS degree in nursing and then worked as a R. N. at Jackson Memorial Baptist Hospital in Coral Gables.  She returned to Cleveland in 1964 to work at Metro General Hospital for 32 years before retiring.  Darla then volunteered 1 day a week at the gift shop at Fairview Hospital. She loved her home and garden in Cleveland and in Hallandale Beach Florida where she spent winters after retiring. There were also many cruises to the Caribbean and trips to Disney World.  Darla and her brother William also owned the Midas Muffler shop at 15104 Lorain Ave. and the West Park Building at !5008 Lorain.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27th, 12:00 Noon at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas). Visitation from 10-12 noon on Wednesday only. Entombment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
