Al Glasberg passed away surrounded by family and friends March 8 at Fairview Hospital. An avowed adrenaline junkie, Al enjoyed season passes to Cedar Point, traveled for other great coasters, and even once jumped out of a perfectly good plane. For an impressive 32 years, Al was safely employed as a high-rise window washer - making many of our city’s skyscrapers sparkle - and experienced Cleveland as few others have. Al loved heading off on a road trip with his honey, and reveled in the excitement of live music, taking family to countless concerts – no music was loud enough for Al - and spent over 30 years accumulating a wholly unique collection of tattoos. He was a reptile lover, medieval weapon collector, and was an avid bowhunter with prized racks decorating his walls. He loved being his family’s provider and protector and his laughter and storytelling are truly missed.
Survived by his loving, devoted wife, Edith Glasberg, and dear children, Katelyn, Anthony and Andrew. Al was the beloved grandfather of Ella, Eli and Ethan. Also survived by cherished siblings Ann, Sharon, Aaron, and Dorothy, 16 nieces and nephews and countless other loved ones. Preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Sharon, and brother, Mark.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the David G. Martens & Son Funeral Home, 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas), Cleveland, OH 44135 with opportunities for sharing stories. Al will be laid to rest at a private family interment in Vermont; his obituary and condolences can be found and memories shared at davidmartensfh.com. 216 941-1772
