Mary R. Christian (nee Libengood), age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. She lived a long and full life marked by fierce devotion to those she loved and a spirited personality that left a lasting impression.

Mary was the beloved wife of Harold L. Christian and the mother of three daughters. She is survived by her daughter Jean (John) Lauschin. She was preceded in death by her daughters Mary (George) Cunard and Peggy Stanley.

She was the proud grandmother of Jenny, Jessica, Eric, Tommy, and Angel, and great-grandmother of Madison, Jacob, Scottlyn, and Madelynn. In her later years, she found great joy in caring for her great-granddaughter Madison.

Mary was one of nine brothers and sisters. For a time, she made her home in North Carolina, where she lived near her sister Dot, who was also her very best friend.

A true spitfire, Mary found joy in bingo nights, scratching lotto tickets, enjoying a good screwdriver, painting, and playing cards. Her beloved dogs, Penny and Remi, held a very special place in her heart and brought her endless comfort and companionship.

Mary will be remembered for her bold spirit, her quick wit, and the deep love she poured into the lives of those she cherished.

Family will meet  at the David Martens & Son Funeral Home 4175 Rocky River Drive (between Lorain & Puritas) on Friday, March 6th, at 10:00 for procession to Sunset Memorial Park for Graveside service at 10:30. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5th, from 5-7 p.m at the funeral home.
