FR. JOHN (JACK) HOLMES  Fr. Jack was born on July 26, 1941 to Harold and Lauretta Holmes (nee Martens). He was raised in Cleveland, attended Catholic schools and entered Borromeo Seminary at the age of 14. He continued his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary in Steubenville, Ohio. He professed his vows and was ordained to the priesthood on May 17, 1969. Fr. Jack served the Diocese of Steubenville. He continued his service to God throughout his life. He is survived by his siblings, Mary (Richard, deceased) Nist, Tom (Heidi), Ted (Judy Wharton), Ruth Ann (Bill) Bielek and Theresa (Joe) Parente. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fr. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, October 9, 11:30 a.m at Our Lady of Angels Church 3644 Rocky River Drive with Rev. Fr. Dale Tornes as the main celebrant and homilist. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.  He will be laid to rest with his parents at Holy Cross cemetery. He died peacefully after a prolonged illness on October 3.
