Catherine Elizabeth Balice, 88, born February 24, 1938, beloved mother of Gerry (Peg) R. Billinghurst and Catherine (Jerry) Seger Roberson, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep, on September 13, 2026. She was a long-time resident of West Park. She was the grandmother of Angela (nee Billinghurst), (Brock) Ringler, Christopher (Kaylee) Billinghurst and Nicholas (Kayla) Billinghurst all of Ashland, Ohio and Richard Roberson, Sarah Roberson, Karl Roberson, Graham Roberson, Bri Roberson, & Krista Roberson.

 She was a great-grandmother to 8. She is also survived by her brother, Vincent Balice, of Elyria, and many cousins. Catherine was born in Rocky River, Ohio, and grew up in Lakewood. She was the daughter of the late Vincenzo (Jim) Balice and Nancy Anne (nee Lima) Balice. She attended St.James Church and School in Lakewood, and St. Augustine Academy in Lakewood. Catherine was a long-time member of The American Legion Auxiliary Post 738 in Fairview Park. Affectionately known as “little Cathy”, she was still actively attending meetings and helping with events. She had many friends there and will be sincerely missed. Catherine was fiercely independent; she loved her home, her family, and her friends. She loved to garden and cook for others. Mostly, she just loved to socialize and have long conversations with friends and family. Preceded in death by Gerald R. Billinghurst (1977), Karl A. Seger (1985), long-time companion Edward Roth (2001) and great-granddaughter Emeri Billinghurt (2014)
