JANET A. SARINGER (nee Martens) Age 86 of North Olmsted. Passed away peacefully Friday at Emerald Village with her family at her side. Born May 2, 1933 in Cleveland to the late Walter and Eleanor Martens. Janet participated in public service for the City of North Olmsted for 30 years. Elected in 1971 to City Council Ward 2 serving as Councilwoman, Council at Large and Council President. Her career included being a congressional aide for Ronald Mottl 23rd district. Clerk for the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office retiring after 30 years. She volunteered her time in the community and touched the lives of many people. A St. Augustine graduate who served as the Alumni Association president. She was president of the Greater Cleveland Suburban Council and the Stoneybrook Women's Club. She was active in the North Olmsted Democratic Club and Cuyahoga County Democratic Executive Committee. Member of the West Side Irish American Club. Associate member of FOPA Lodge 28. Volunteer at the St. John Medical Center Gift Shop. Long time member of St. Bernadette Church serving as a lector. Beloved wife of 35 years to Robert N. (deceased 1988). Loving mother of John R. "Jack" (Ligia), Deborah A. (Mario) D"Amico, Janet M. (Christopher) Curran, Robert and William M. (Kelly) Saringer. Cherished grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 21. Dearest sister of the late Eleanor Reagan, Leonarda Chal, Rosemary Lohman and Phyllis Flynn. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 27th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church 2256 Clague Road.
